The event takes place at the Cue Sports Academy, Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi and is the second of three tournaments making up the WPBSA Q Tour Middle East series – which all take place this month.

Amir Sarkhosh from Iran won the first event, defeating Bahrain’s Habib Humood 4-0 in the final on Tuesday (9 January).

The tournament win gives Sarkhosh an early lead in the Q Tour Middle East rankings. The player ranked first at the conclusion of the third event will be guaranteed a spot in the Global Q Tour Play-Off, which takes place in Bosnia & Herzegovina in March.

Thirty-six players from 11 nations will compete in the second event of the series – including event one finalists Sarkhosh and Humood, as well as former World Snooker Tour professional Mohamed Shehab.
